As we approach the 250th anniversary of the United States, we look to shine a light on all that makes Philadelphia special.
Our mission is to ignite the passions of the people of Philadelphia with the revolutionary spirit of the Declaration of Independence—to create a commemoration that is truly by the people, for all people.

Congress established the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission to inspire all Americans to participate in our greatest milestone ever — the 250th anniversary of the United States
2026 marks the 250th anniversary of our nation's founding.
We're here to honor and celebrate and we want every American to join in. Over the next six years, we're working closely with citizens, communities, state and local governments, and proud partners from sea to shining sea to make sure that America 250 is momentous and meaningful for all.
