The Patient Experience of Hospitalization

The patient experience of hospitalization section provides information about what patients who used the hospital say about their experience. The information in this section utilizes the  HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) a national, standardized survey of hospital patients. HCAHPS (pronounced "H-caps") was created to publicly report the patient’s perspective of hospital care. The survey asks a random sample of recently discharged patients about important aspects of their hospital experience. The results are publically reported on Medicarecomare.gov.

Our vision

All hospitals in the Delaware Valley provide consistently outstanding care that is reflected by the feedback of the patient's experience.

What are patients saying about their experience in the hospital?

  • Database generated patient satisfaction with care received at the hospital

  • How does the hospital rate along with the aspirational goals for patient safety and performance (By 5 levels of outcomes)

The Patient Experience of Hospitalization 5 Liberty Bells grade is derived from the categories below and the grade is totaled into the overall hospital grade in the hospital profile.
